Janie D. Phelps

Janie D. Phelps, age 63, of Gulfport, died Saturday, January 3, 2009 in Gulfport. Mrs. Phelps was born in Harrison County and was a longtime resident of the Gulf Coast. She was a member of Gulfport Elks Lodge #978, American Legion Auxiliary #119, VFW Auxiliary Post 2539, MOCAPT2, DAV Auxiliary #5, and Red Hat Society. She was loved dearly and will be truly missed by all her loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by a grandson, John Earl Stiver. Mrs. Phelps is survived by her husband, George "Ben" Phelps of Gulfport; a daughter, Angelia Cockrell (Mark); a son, John Earl Bourque, Jr. (Jennifer) all of Plattsmouth, NE; and three grandchildren, Dustin Cockrell, Ashlynn Cockrell, and John Earl Bourque, III. The funeral service including an Elks Service is Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at 4:00 p.m. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, O'Neal Road, Gulfport where friends may visit from 3:00 p.m. until the service.
