Jasmine Whitney Townsend

Jasmine Whitney Townsend, age 16, of Ocean Springs, MS., died Saturday, April 29, 2006, in Gautier, MS. Jasmine was born in Gulfport, MS., and had been a lifelong resident of Ocean Springs. She was currently a sophmore at Ocean Springs High School and was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Ocean Springs. She was a member of the varsity dance team and the Junior Civitans. She also was employed at the YMCA in Ocean Springs and danced with Donna's Performing Arts. Jasmine is survived by her parents, Roy and Margaret Townsend of Ocean Springs, MS., two brothers, Roy Townsend, Jr. and Devon Townsend, both of Ocean Springs, MS., grandmother, Annie Gavin, grandparents, George and Josephine Townsend, Sr., all of North Carolina, great-grandmother, Irene Hairston of Baton Rouge, LA., five aunts and three uncles. Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 2, 2006, from 4-7 PM, at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home. Burial will be in Brooks Family Cemetery in Kernersville, North Carolina.
