Jefferson Davis "J.D." Wood

Mr. J. D. Wood, 96, of Ocean Springs, MS, went to be with the Lord, Monday, March 1, 2010, in Ocean Springs. Mr. Wood was born in Carierre, MS and remained a lifelong resident of the Gulf Coast. He was a master carpenter and member of the Carpenters Local Union. He was a generous and giving person who sacrificed much of his time helping to build churches along the Gulf Coast. Mr. Wood was preceded in death by his wife, Vineacie Wood, and son, David Wayne Wood. He is survived by his daughter, Loretta Myrick; sons Kenneth Wood, Michael Wood, Darrell Wood and Mark Wood; sisters, Lavert Watson and Mary Garner; brother, J. L. Wood; eighteen grandchildren, forty-eight great grandchildren and eleven great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be 12 noon Saturday, March 6, 2010, at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, 675 Howard Avenue, in Biloxi where friends may visit from 10 a.m.until service time. Interment will follow in Biloxi City Cemetery.
