Jerry Cates

Jerry Cates, age 67, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, November 25, 2017 after a lifelong battle with diabetes. Jerry was born and raised on the MS Gulf Coast. He worked for 37 years at the Gulfport VA. He loved the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his grandchildren. He was a devoted and loving father and grandfather and will be tremendously missed by all that knew him. He is preceded in death by his parents, Collie and Camella Cates. Survivors include his loving wife, Kim Cates; children, Melissa Pickich (Peter Russell) and Jake Cates (Jessica); and grandchildren Ayden, Annistin, Jeremiah, Marley, Riley, Olivia and Jessalynn. He also leaves behind 5 brothers and a sister. Services will be held at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home on Howard Avenue in Biloxi on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at 11am. Friends may visit one hour prior. Interment will follow at Wilkerson Cemetery in Larue.
