Jerry Reid Walton

Mr. Jerry R. Walton, age 73, of Ocean Springs, MS., passed away on Friday, March 9, 2007, in Ocean Springs. After proudly serving twenty years in the U.S. Navy as a Submariner, he retired as a Chief Quartermaster in 1969. He continued to work for the Navy until 1997, and received many honorable service awards. Mr. Walton was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathy Lynn, parents, Purgel and Julia Walton, siblings, Don, Jean (Jones) and Elmer. Survivors include his wife, Goldie Dees Walton of Ocean Springs, MS., children, Albert (Cindy) Walton of Kansas City, KS, Judy (Tom) Bowman of Ocean Springs, MS., Thelma (Roger) Arnold and Mary (Dave) Dorner, all of Bedford, PA, four daughters by marriage, twenty four grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, sisters, Patsy (John) Lacey, Thelma Jo Walton, brother, Danny (Hilda) Walton, all of South Carolina and many nieces and nephews. On Thursday, March 15, 2007, there will be a 1 PM Memorial Service at the Ocean Springs Church of Christ on Washington Avenue. Burial will be in Biloxi National Cemetery at a later date. The Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
