Jill Ann Meyerchick Champagne, age 59, of Gulfport, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2021.
Jill was a longtime resident of the MS Gulf Coast. She attended Gulfport High School and worked as the office manager of Woman’s Clinic, PA for 40 years. Jill defeated breast cancer twice and fought acute myeloid leukemia. Her hobbies included spending time laughing with her family and friends and going to church. Jill was a parishioner of St. James Catholic Church in Gulfport. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Jill radiated strength and positivity, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Jill is survived by her husband of 33 years, Edward Champagne; daughters, Lucy Champagne Emmons, Claire Champagne; son-in-law, Preston Emmons; granddaughter, Ruby Claire Emmons; parents, Donald J. Meyerchick, Sr., Mary Lou Meyerchick; siblings, Donald and Kathy Meyerchick, Nancy Monaghan, Paul and Regina Meyerchick, Erik Meyerchick.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at noon at St. James Catholic Church, Gulfport, where friends may visit one hour before the service. Interment will be in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Gulfport.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations be made in her honor to the Halo House Foundation in Houston, TX. The Halo House is a fully furnished temporary housing at a very low cost specifically for cancer patients who are battling leukemia, lymphoma, or myeloma while they are undergoing cancer treatment in Houston, TX. Jill lived at the Halo House for 8 months before passing.
