Mr. Jimmie Lee Rogers, 78, of Ocean Springs, MS, died June 30, 2010, in Bangor, ME.
Mr. Rogers was a native of Biloxi and a former resident of Chicago, IL. He retired from the U. S. Postal Service as a mail handler and returned to Biloxi in 2001. He was a graduate of Perkinston Jr. College in 1951 and a Korean Veteran of the U. S. Army. He was a graduate of the University of Texas and earned a Masters degree at North Eastern Illinois University. He was a Catholic.
Mr. Rogers is survived by his wife, Heather Ince Rogers; son, Ian Rogers; grandson, Ethan Rogers; nephews, William (Opal) Holland and Gilbert (Betty) Holland; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Holland and Iris Barber and her children, Keith and Sheridan; and his brother-in-law, Adrian Lee and his children, Katina and Steven.
In lieu of flowers the family prefers donations to be made to Maritime and Seafood Industry Museum, 115 First Street, Biloxi, MS 39530 or to Ohr-O'Keefe Museum of Art, 1596 Glen Swetman Street, Biloxi, MS 39530.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, July 8, 2010, at 3 p.m. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Howard Avenue, in Biloxi where friends may visit one hour before service time.
