Jimmie Lee Taylor

Jimmie Lee Taylor, 85, of Gulfport, MS passed away on Saturday June 22, 2024 in Biloxi.

He was born in Damascus, GA. Jimmie retired from Sterling Drugs. He dedicated his life to serving his God Jehovah. Though he has been blind for the past 9 years, he enjoyed working with his hands. He had a kind heart and even though his illnesses gave him several difficult moments, he constantly spoke about the many happy memories he had with his family and friends. He is a longtime resident of the MS Gulf Coast and lived through many major hurricanes, most noteworthy was his time with Camille in 1969. He often shared his experience sitting on top of Gayfer’s at Edgewater Mall during the eye. He will be greatly missed and we all look forward to seeing him standing next to Jesus Christ and Jehovah in the new system.

Jimmie is preceded in death by his parents, Beulah Smith and Frank Taylor; his children, Jimmy Taylor, Jr., Toni Taylor and Ramona Hopstein; his grandchildren, Ladarion Hampton and Kerry Young; siblings, L.C. Benson, Ray Taylor, Frankie Redcross, J.H. Taylor and 2 great grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Yvonne Lydia Brenton; children Cele Taylor, Marvin Taylor, LeAnn Taylor, Frank Taylor, Tammy Hopstein (Tanya), Cathy Crilly (John); siblings, Mary Benson, Henry Taylor (Pam), Mattie Banks (Robert), Ruby Taylor, Charles Redcross and John Henry Taylor; grandchildren Eishia Evans, Dillan Soca, Antonio Willes, Terrance Taylor, Dedria Parker, Nicole Taylor, Darion Westly, Thishin Hampton, Keshia Hampton, Marcus Hampton, Sr., Octazia Jorden, Toni Taylor, Madison Taylor, Kitra Trippet, Zykeria Lamplet, Nero Taylor, Lindzy Taylor, Felix Taylor, Micah Taylor, Monimia Waton, Eli Stallworth, Larkin Crilly and 14 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Monday, July 1, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. followed by a service at 2:00 p.m. at the O’Neal Road location of Bradford O’Keefe Funeral Home.  Following is the information to join or listen to the service by  Zoom.
