Jimmy Roy Webb

Jimmy Roy Webb, age 78, of Gulfport, died Saturday, January 27, 2007 in Gulfport. Mr. Webb was born in Gulfport and had been a resident of the Coast for most of his life. He was a graduate of Gulfport High School, Class of 1946, where he was Mr. G.H.S. and was also a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Gulfport, where he served as a deacon. Mr Webb served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the Gulfport Yacht Club, and a former member of the Jaycees, Gulfport Gridiron Club, and the Century Club. Mr. Webb was a local distributor with Harrison Oil Company and former sales representative with American Oil Company. He was the Harbormaster during Mayor Leroy Urie's Administration and was associated with Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes at the time of his death. He was preceded in death by parents, Henry Leroy Webb and Cora Adele Hardy Webb; and his brother, Dr. Hal Webb of Jackson, MS. Mr. Webb is survived by his wife, Patricia Harrison Webb of Gulfport; a daughter Louise (Randy) Castello of Pass Christian; two sons, Jim (Sandy) Webb and John (Cindy) Webb both of Gulfport; and seven grandchildren, Mary Louise Castello, Caroline Castello, April Webb, Patton Webb, Harrison Webb, Merilee Webb, and Bennett Webb. The funeral service is Tuesday, January 30, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church, Gulfport where friends may visit from 12 noon until the service. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Gulfport. The family prefers memorials to Westminster Academy Building Fund, 5003 Lawson Avenue, Gulfport, MS 39507.
