Jo Alice Ashley Shambarger

Jo Alice Ashley Shambarger passed away peacefully on 6 February 2022 at the age of 73.

Jo was born Sept 18th, 1948, in Hazlehurst, MS. to parents Clyde and Irene Ashley. She grew up in Hazlehurst, MS., where she graduated from Hazlehurst High School the 24th of May 1966. For over 30 years, Jo worked as an insurance adjuster in Jackson and Gulfport, MS. Jo, or as many of us knew her, "JoJo" was a woman filled with joy, love, and faith. Her ability to persevere and endure many of life's challenges was inspirational. Her laughter was contagious and lifted the spirits of all those around her. Jo spent much of her time enjoying the company of her family and friends, watching Mississippi State Athletics, cooking delicious food, and loving life. Her joy and passion for living was like no other. She touched the lives of so many and will be dearly missed.

Jo is predeceased by her parents Clyde and Irene Ashley of Hazlehurst, MS. And her husband James V. Shambarger.

She is survived by her son, Wallace W. Reynolds Jr. of Fair Oaks Ranch, TX.; stepdaughter, Melissa D. Doligale of Joliet, IL.; sister, Sandra Ashley Conner; niece, Melanie Renfro of Brookhaven, MS.; and four grandchildren that include Justin G. Reynolds, Jared W. Reynolds, John T. Doligale V, and Lauren M. Doligale.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 26, 2022 at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 15^th Street, Gulfport. Friends may visit one-hour prior to service. Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 15^th Street, Gulfport is honored to serve the Shambarger family.
