Joan Marie Barnett, age 73, passed away to her heavenly home on February 12, 2021 in Vancleave, MS. She was born in Biloxi, MS on July 4, 1947 to Oscar and Marie Hickman Noble. She was a D’Iberville High School graduate where she was in the band and played the clarinet. She accepted her first job as a medical secretary at Howard Memorial Hospital, which later became Biloxi Regional Medical Center, where she faithfully dedicated 40 years of service, in which she was extremely proud of. She was a simple woman who loved spending precious time with her family, watching game shows, western movies and looked forward to her daily 11am talk with her sister, Bonnie. One of her fondest memories that she loved to talk about was her Hawaii trip that she went on with her sisters Bonnie, Beverly, and Patti. She loved attending Larue Baptist Church where she had many friends who became family. Above all, Joan was a loving, caring and a generous woman. To know her was to love her.
She is preceded in death by her spouse, Harvey L. Barnett; parents, Oscar and Marie Hickman Noble; grandparents, Clinton and Della Kates Wilson and Agnes Noble; brothers, Lee Noble and Kerry Noble; sister, Beverly Noble Carroll; and niece, Tracy Carroll Walker.
She is survived by her son, Greg Barnett (Shelly), Vancleave, MS; grandson, Clint Barnett; granddaughter, Gracie Barnett; siblings, Bonnie Noble and Patti Noble Cuevas (Tommy); nieces, Sandra Pearson and Della Aleaxander; nephews, Daniel and John Carroll, James Walraven Jr., Robbie Hunter, Brennan and Dillon Noble, and Colby Cuevas; great nieces and nephews, Grant, Maisyn, Morgan, Jackson and Noah Pearson, Kaitlyn and Olivia Walker, Caleb Carroll, Ben and Jeremy Alexander, and Anniston Hunter.
Funeral service for Saturday, February 20, 2021 at 12:00pm at Larue Baptist Church. Friends are invited to visit one hour prior. Interment will follow in Swetman Cemetery in D’Iberville, MS.
