Joan C. Allen

Mrs. Joan C. Allen, age 74, of the St. Martin Community, died Thursday, December 18, 2008, in Ocean Springs. Mrs. Allen was a native and lifelong resident of the St. Martin Community. She was a member of the OES Chapter #394 and a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Ocean Springs. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kirby "K.V." Allen, her parents, Vernon and Rita Seymour Ladner and a brother, Wesley R. Ladner. Survivors include a daughter, Joanette (Steve) Evangelista, two sons, Kevin V. (Marjorie) Allen and Douglas E. (Phyllis) Allen, four grandchildren, Courtney Rae Allen, Priscilla Joanelle Evangelista, Patrick Kevin Allen and Bryan Wesley Allen, and one great-grandchild, Landon Allen Evangelista. Visitation will be on Monday, December 22, 2008, from 1 PM - 3 PM, with a 3 PM chapel service, all at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Ryan Cemetery in St. Martin. In lieu of flowers the family prefers donations be made to the American Lung Association, P.O. Box 2178, Ridgeland, MS. 39158.
