Joan Strunk

Joan Strunk, 80, of Ocean Springs, formerly of Gautier, died Tuesday, December 6, 2011 in Ocean Springs, MS. Mrs. Strunk was a loving mother who devoted her life to raising six children. She owned and operated her own craft store until 1985 when she retired. Mrs. Strunk loved crafts, cooking, collecting recipes and listening to music. She believed in teaching children through games and play and she had a quiet strength. She was a lifelong Catholic. She is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Kenneth Strunk; and granddaughter, Heather Marie Strunk. Survivors include her daughter, Susan Tolar; sons, Scotty (Liz) Strunk, Steven (Susan) Strunk, Shawn (Linda) Strunk, Shannon (Cynthia) Strunk and Sheldon (Lisa) Strunk; eighteen grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home on Friday, December 9, 2011 from 6:30 pm until 8:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church on Saturday, December 10, 2011 at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Park in Ocean Springs, MS.
