JoAnn Battaya

JoAnn Battaya, age 73, of Biloxi, MS passed away on Sunday, January 1, 2023.

JoAnn was born in Biloxi and was a lifetime resident of the Coast. She got great satisfaction spending time with and taking care of her entire family. She enjoyed genealogy and loved finding out her family history. In her spare time, she enjoyed sitting on her porch with Nello watching hummingbirds.

JoAnn is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Eleanor Fletcher.

Survivors include her husband, Nello Battaya; daughter, Connie Husley; grandchildren, Megan (Cole) Price, Jake (Morgan) Husley and Anthony Husley; step-son, Charlie Reid; great grandchildren, Vann Price, Vaiden Price, Violet Price, Caroline Brabston and Oaklynn Husley; sister, Cassandra (Glenn) Reid; and by her brothers, Bobby (Carolyn) Fletcher and Dean (Anna) Fletcher; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, Howard Avenue in Biloxi, on Friday, January 6, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. Friends may visit from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Swetman Cemetery.
