Joann Rachel Krohn Bissett, 44, of Ocean Springs, MS died Friday, February 4, 2005, in Ocean Springs Hospital of cancer.
Mrs. Bissett was a lifelong resident of the Latimer Community and graduated from St. Martin High School in 1979. She was a dedicated sports mom and loved the Mardi Gras season. Joann was a maid of the Southernettes Carnival Association in 1996.
Joann was preceded in death by her father, Melvin C. Krohn, Sr.; grandparents, Melvin Krohn and Camellia Balius Krohn of Latimer and Joseph Aguilar and Frances Lupo Aguilar of New Orleans, LA.
Survivors include her husband, Tyrus "Ray" Bissett; her mother, Justine "June" Krohn; her son, Joshua Swinford; one brother, Rocky Krohn and his wife, Karen; niece, Karlee Krohn; nephew, Jody Krohn and his wife, Ashley; great-niece, Allyssa Krohn and a great-nephew, Shane Krohn, all of Latimer. She will also be greatly missed by her many relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Sunday, February 6, 2005, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes in Biloxi with recitation of the Rosary at 7:30 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Christ The King Catholic Church where friends may visit one hour before service time. Burial will follow in Camellia Cemetery in Latimer.
Pallbearers will be her cousins, Dan Krohn, Kenny Krohn, A J Krohn, Steve Krohn, Clayton Krohn and good friend, Wayne Misko.
