Ret. MSgt. Joe Louis Harris, 70, of Biloxi, MS departed this life on Saturday, September 13, 2008. He was born in Coffeeville, Alabama on January 12, 1938. A 1957 graduate of Central High School, Mobile, AL. He entered the United States Air Force in April of 1961. Throughout his 26 years of service he travled the world and made many new friends. He started out in the rank of Airman Basic and retired at the rank of Master Sergeant. He was the son of Bishop Eddie Harris, Jr. and Mother Crissie Goode Harris, who both preceded him in death. Also a brother Joshua Goode preceded him in death. He leaves to cherish his memory a devoted family which consists of a wife, Mrs. Ursula Harris of Biloxi, MS; daughters, Mrs. Ethel (Chris) Harris of Slidell, LA, MSgt. Anita Harris of Biloxi, MS and Ms Camille Robertson of London, England; eight grandchildren, Ethan, Quinn and Caitlyn of Slidell, LA, Jalen and Jordyn of Biloxi, MS, Shoni, Kiah and Micah of London, England; mother-in-law, Mrs. Necy Babbage of Zimbabwe, Africa; sisters, Miss Evelyn Harris and Overseer Brenetta Harris both of Mobile, AL, Mrs. Equilla Cash of Long Beach, CA, Mrs. Julia (LaBaron) Seals of Lakewood, CA and Mrs. Bell Hundley of Corona, CA; brothers, Mr. Melvin (Sharon) Harris of Macon, GA, Elder Magellan (Irene) Harris of Long Beach, CA, Mr. James (Lydia) Harris of Carson, CA, Mr. George (Lydia) Harris of Slidell, LA and Mr. Clarence (Arlene) Dickerson of Port Charlotte, FL; sisters-in-law, Mrs. Brendalyn Goode of Macon, GA, Mrs. Elvira (Bashir) Khan of Zimbabwe, Africa and Ms Denise Babbage of South Africa; brothers-in-law, Mr. Alvin (Leswyn) Babbage, and Mr. Leonard (Alexandria) Babbage of Zimbabwe, Africa; aunts, Mrs. Frankie (L.W.) Washington of Pomona, CA, Mrs. Annie Coleman and Mrs. Maggie Hatch of Hisperia, CA, Mrs. Donnie Tate of Detriot, MI, Mrs. Mae Goode of Frisco, TX, Mrs. Nellie (Patrick) Middlemas, Mrs. Dorthy Selman both of Zimbabwe, Africa and Mrs. Elsie Abrahams of London, England; uncles, Mr. L.C. Coastes of Sacramento, CA, Mr. Cecil Williams and Mr. L. B. White both of Long Beach, CA and Mr. Leslie (Ena) Babbage of Zimbabwe, Africa; special cousins, Mrs. Eva M. Phillips, Mrs. Lillie Bryant both of Mobile, AL, Mr. Robert Harris of El Paso, TX, Ret. MSgt. Joseph (Beatrice) Harris of Jacksonville, AK, Pastor Josephate (Linda) Jordan of Bakersfield, CA; special friend, Ret. MSgt. Walter (Debra) Harrison of Ocean Springs, MS; a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and other relatives and friends. His remains will lie in state from 5-7:00 pm, Thursday, September 18, 2008 at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Pass Road, Biloxi and on Friday, September 19, 2008 from 9:00 am until service time at 11:00 am at Pentecostals of the Gulf Coast Church, Pastor Paul D. Springer, 1907 Popps Ferry Road, Biloxi. Officiating, Minister, Pastor Josephate Jordan. Burial will follow in Biloxi National Cemetery with full Military Honors.
