Joe Wayne Carr, Sr.

Mr. Joe Wayne Carr, Sr., 65, of Saucier, MS, passed away Friday, January 23, 2009, in Mobile, AL. Joe was born March 25, 1943 in Laurel, MS, where he resided until 1959 when his family relocated to New Orleans, LA. He graduated from Warren Easton High School, New Orleans, in 1961. He enlisted in the U. S. Navy in 1963 and served four years, based in San Diego. He returned to New Orleans where he was employed by the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Department for approximately 16 years before retiring due to an illness. Joe spent his remaining years in N. Biloxi. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Joe T. and Annie Rose Carr of New Orleans. He is survived by his only child, Joe W. Carr, Jr. and his wife, Stephanie, and their two beautiful daughters, Ava and Isabella, of Woodbridge, VA. He is also survived by an only sibling, his brother and care provider, Thomas P. Carr, of N. Biloxi. Visitation is 6 until 7 p.m., Tuesday, January 27, 2009, at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Howard Avenue, in Biloxi. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Biloxi National Cemetery.
