Joel Daniel Varnado

Joel Daniel Varnado, age 73, of Gulfport, passed away Tuesday, January 4, 2011 in Gulfport. He was born February 1, 1937 in Poplarville. Mr. Varnado is preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Jeannette Varnado on December 17, 2010. He is survived by their four children, Jeannette (Jimmy) Parks, Roy Varnado, Winona Varnado, and Deanna (Dean) Latimer; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; his siblings, Ellen Ray Wilson, Rosa Faye (Otis) Lee, Elton (Chris) Varnado, Gurshon (Mary) Varnado; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, January 11, 2011 11:00 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 12290 Depew Road, Gulfport where friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until the service.
