John Alex "Johnny" Harris

John Alex “Johnny” Harris, 76, of Ocean Springs, MS passed away on Sunday, September 19, 2021 in Ocean Springs. Mr. Harris was a lifelong resident of Ocean Springs. He graduated from Ocean Springs High School Class of 1963. Mr. Harris joined the US Navy in 1963 and was assigned to the USS Kitty Hawk in Vietnam from 1963 – 1967. He was preceded in death by his parents, James C. Harris, Sr. and Gladys Fayard Harris: and his brothers, James “Bubba” Harris and Jeffrey Harris. Mr. Harris’ survivors include his son, John E. (Dawn) Harris; his grandchildren, Shane Harris, Jarod (Destyne) Harris, Shelby Harris, Chase Harris and Myles Holley; his great-grandson, Wyatt Harris; his brothers, Dr. Charles Harris and Rick (Angie) Harris; and his niece, Tiffany Harris. In lieu of flowers the family prefers donations be made in Mr. Harris’ memory to the Ocean Springs Athletic Foundation, P.O. Box 1188, Ocean Springs, MS 39566. Venmo @OS-Athleticfoundation Funeral Services will be held at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home on Porter Avenue in Ocean Springs on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at 11:00 am. Friends may visit from 9:00 am until service time. Interment will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery.
