John Allen

John Allen, age 58, passed away on Saturday November 23, 2019 at his home in Woolmarket. John was born Feb 16, 1961 in Biloxi and lived in Woolmarket for the last 20 years. He attended Ole Miss where he lettered in football. He was a three-year starter playing right guard and was team captain for the Independence Bowl. John was a member of the M Club. He also loved playing basketball and softball. He graduated in 1983. John worked for the Sand Hill Crane Refuge and then started his career in law enforcement at Harrison County Jail and later joined the Biloxi Police Dept for 23 years. He was in the Traffic Division as an Accident Reconstructionist. John is preceded in death by his father, Herman Joseph Allen; mother, Maxine Allen; brothers, Joe and Gene Allen; and sisters, Glenda Rayner and Becky Rayner John is survived by his wife, Sabrina Allen of Woolmarket; son, Cody Allen of Gulfport; grandson, Michael “Mikey” Lindsay of Gulfport; granddaughter, Josephine “JoJo” Fowler of Ocean Springs; brother, Billy Ray (Sylvia) Allen of Biloxi; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is sadly missed by his fur babies Abby, Sophie and Peanut. Sophie is lost without you by her side. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m.- 2:00 p.m. with the Honor Guard, followed by a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 1, 2019 at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home in Biloxi, MS. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials to be made to the funeral home.
