Mr. John B. Ross, Sr., 79, of Biloxi passed away on Tuesday, December 19, 2006 in Ocean Springs, Mississippi.
He was a native of Biloxi and lived most of his life in Ocean Springs, where he was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church as well as a respected member of the fishing community. Mr. Ross served in the United States Army during World War II and was a Master boatbuilder and carpenter.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Dorothy N. "Dot" Ross of Biloxi; three daughters, Margo (Tom) Rushin of Ocean Springs, Jane R. (Paul) Martineau of New London, CT and Mary Elizabeth "Mimi" (Chuck) Fountain of Ocean Springs; a son, John B. Ross, Jr. of Vancleave; two sisters, Mena Wallis of Biloxi and Uelda Butler of Atlanta, GA; a brother, Eley Ross of Biloxi; seven grandchildren, Raines, Noel Rushin; Ross Erin, David Martineau; Jason, Sam Fountain; Jennifer Ross and one great-grandson, Jamison Morris.
Visitation with a Rosary will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 21, 2006 at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes.
A Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, where he will lie instate at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 22, 2006. Burial to follow at Bellande Cemetery.
