John Richard Carsen

Mr. John Richard Carsen, age 76, of Ocean Springs, passed away on Friday, June 26, 2015, in Ocean Springs. He was a lifelong resident of Ocean Springs, served in the US Navy and retired from the US Air Force. He was formerly employed at Ingalls Shipbuilding, Sears and Estabrook Ford in Pascagoula. His mother, Erika, operated the first ice cream parlor in Ocean Springs for many years. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Anne Carsen, parents, Max and Erika Carsen and sister, Jean Lowd. Survivors include his wife, Lise Hotard, four children, Richard Daniel (Tracey) Carsen, Kathy Sanders, Paul Carsen and Julie (Mike) Messenger, four grandchildren, Justin and Brittany Sanders, Maya and Max Messenger, favorite niece, Beth Cairo, other family members and friends, and his dog, Candy. Visitation will be on Thursday, July 2, from 3:30 pm until 8:00 pm at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home. A private burial will be held.
