John Lewis Chase

John Lewis Chase, Jr., 49, passed away Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at the VA Hospice in Biloxi, MS. John was born at Tompkins County Hospital in Ithaca, New York on June 2, 1966. He lived in Trumansburg, New York until joining the United States Navy in 1987. He was stationed at the Naval Construction Battalion Center in Gulfport, MS, where he met his wife, Victoria. While serving with Seabee Battalion 133 as a seaman, his unit was a part of "Operation Provide Comfort" in Iraq. After his service, he stayed in the construction field where he ultimately landed with W.G. Yates and Sons Construction in Biloxi, MS for 20 years as a superintendent. John was a hard working wonderful generous loving man. He will be sadly missed by all but, never will he leave our hearts. John was preceded in death by his mother Dolores E. Towner Chase of Trumansburg, NY; a son, Noah Joseph Chase of Ocean Springs, MS; a daughter, Bridgette Elaine Eaton of Biloxi, MS; and father-in-law, Freddie J. Dahl, Jr. of Ocean Springs, MS. Survivors include his wife of 21 yrs, Victoria Dahl Chase of Ocean Springs, MS; a son, Terry W. (Judy Yates) Eaton, Jr. of D'Iberville, MS; daughter, Kristen M. (Pablo Hernandez) Eaton of St. Martin, MS, son, John Lewis Chase III of St. Martin, MS and son, Nicholas David Chase of St. Martin, MS; six grandchildren; his father, John L. Chase Sr. of Trumansburg, NY; sisters: Sondra Chase Mansur of Buffalo, NY, Sally Ann (Marc) Chase Trepanier of Merrimack, NH, Allyson Chase of Trumansburg, NY and Jacqueline (Luis) Chase Sanchez of Greenville, SC; a very dear and loved friend, Lisa Yates Coats of Saucier, MS; mother-in-law, Judith Dahl Hicks of Ocean Springs, MS and numerous family and friends including many nieces and nephews each very special to him. A visitation services will be held Sunday, November 15, 2015 at Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford O’Keefe Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00pm. A private burial for family will be held at a later date.
