John Shermann Darnell

John Shermann Darnell III, 83, passed away Monday, March 19, 2018 in Ocean Springs. Mr. Darnell lived in Ocean Springs for 44 years. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, and retired with 23 years of service. He also retired from the Electrical Department of Ingalls Shipbuilding. He was a friend of Bill W. John is preceded in death by his parents, John and Henrietta Darnell and great-granddaughter, Marley DelaCruz. Survivors include his wife of 59 and a half years, Lucy Darnell; sons, John Robin Darnell, Barry Keith Darnell, Jamey Sean Darnell (Tina), and Todd Andrew Darnell; sisters, Rebecca Forester (Dan) and Hettie Young (Alvin); eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held Thursday, March 22, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m., with a memorial service at 7:30 p.m, all at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer you make a donation to the charity of your choice.
