John Douglas Fayard, 38, of Gulfport, MS died Monday, May 23, 2011 at Gulfport Memorial Hospital. He was born June 29, 1972, in Biloxi, MS. John was a member of FBC Gulfport, MS. He was currently employed by Howell Electric as an electrician, but worked as a carpenter for many years. John attended Gulfport High School and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. John loved playing his guitar, spending time with family, and loved the outdoors. He also enjoyed grilling, rock music, and deep spiritual conversations.
He was preceded in death by Dylan Corey; paternal grandparents, Howard Benton Fayard and Verna Carroll Peterson; maternal grandparents, Alvin Douglas Stevenson, Sr. and Marie Louise Stevenson.
Survivors include: parents, Luther Gary Fayard, Sr and Sharon Louise Fayard; a brother, Gary (Hope) Fayard, of Mandeville, LA; a sister, Janet Alison Fayard; a nephew, Trace Fayard; a niece, Maddy Fayard; his fiancée, Kathy Wheeler and her children and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 28, 2011 at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, Pass Road, Biloxi, MS. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
