John Eugene Gildea, Sr.

Mr. John Eugene Gildea, Sr., age 56, of Vancleave, MS., died Wednesday, January 21, 2009, in Vancleave. Mr. Gildea, born and raised in Ocean Springs, MS., was a self-employed marine mechanic who worked on boats. He loved to fish, enjoyed his pocket knives, hats and seafood, and was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his brother, Terry Lee "Sam" Gildea. Survivors include his wife, Nora Gildea, daughter, Brandy Gildea, son, John E. Gildea, Jr., mother, Betty Jane Waltman Mathieu, five sisters, Rose Gildea-Hudson, Annie Ryan, Brenda Mathieu, Theresa Mathieu-Blair, and Gloria Mathieu-Amacker, three brothers, Joseph "Moody" Gildea, Mike Gildea and Daniel Mathieu and three grandchildren, Karsen Renee Gildea, Amanda and Samantha Decausey, and a very dear friend, Steve Gilder. Private services will be held at a later date.
