John F. "Capt. Bill" Cosmich, 99, of Biloxi died Wednesday, January 14, 2009 in Ocean Springs.
John was a resident of the Gulf Coast, a longtime boat Captain of the shrimp boat Dolores S. After retiring as a boat captain, he was employed many years with Baricev's Seafood Restaurant Oyster Bar. He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, the oldest member of the Croatian Slavic Benevolent Association, and a lifelong member of United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America.
John was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Clara Skrnich Cosmich, sister, Annie Cosmich and daughter-in-law, Leanna Cosmich.
Survivors include a son, John (Doris) Cosmich, Jr., a daughter, Patsy (Peter) Kuluz, twelve grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, January 17, 2009, 11:00 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church where friends may visit from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Interment is in Southern Memorial Park.
