Mr. John Ghiloni, III, age 65, of Biloxi, MS, passed away Thursday, February 6, 2025, at his home in Biloxi.
John was born in Memphis, Tennessee, and grew up on a farm in Hernando, Mississippi. As a teenager, he played the guitar in a small band with some high school friends. After graduating from Hernando High School in 1977, John moved to the Mississippi Gulf Coast with his parents and sister in 1978 and maintained his residency there ever since.
Throughout his career, John worked at the following businesses: the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (I.A.T.S.E.) Locals #674 in Biloxi, MS, and #39 in New Orleans, LA; McCaffrey’s Signs; Allistons (Screen Printing, Engraving, and Trophy Shop); NASA; and S.W. Medical.
John was a member of Northwood Christian Center from 1989-2006, where he served as deacon during part of his tenure. John enjoyed spending time with his wife, three children, and eight grandchildren. He especially enjoyed attending the grandchildren’s school and sporting events. He was extremely proud of them; they lovingly called him “Papa!” In addition to spending time with his family, John enjoyed playing board games, camping, and sharing meals with friends from his church,
Finally, John was a survivor. He survived open-heart surgery in 2016. In 2019, John suffered and survived a stroke and a brain bleed that left him paralyzed on one side of his body and unable to walk or speak. Nevertheless, he continued to find alternate ways to communicate with his family. However, on Thursday, February 6, 2025, the Lord called John home to be reunited with his wife and parents. John will be greatly missed as a devoted husband, father, Papa, and brother.
John was preceded in death by his wife, Robyn Ghiloni, and his parents, John B. and Betty J. Ghiloni.
