Mr. John Henry Williams, Sr., 78, of Biloxi, MS, died Monday, April 14, 2008, in Ocean Springs.
Mr. Williams was born in Georgia and had been a longtime resident of the MS Gulf Coast. He served in the U. S. Army and was discharged in 1960 as a sergeant. He was employed with Balius Floor Covering for over 43 years and Jumonville Floor Covering for 15 years. He enjoyed fishing the state lakes with his longtime fishing companions, Dofie Reece and his great grandaughter, Ashleigh Palmer.
Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Mabel L. Williams, and parents, Wiley W. and Viola Taylor Williams, Myrtice Caldwell, Louise Illich, Tiny Mae Trobar and Bernice Hanson; and brother, Henry Albert Williams. Survivors include three daughters and sons-in law, Patsy and Wayne Burrow of Walnut, MS, Rosia Lee and Buck Palmer of Ocean Springs, and Barbara and Laverl Barhonovich of Biloxi; two sons, John Henry Williams, Jr. and David Williams of Biloxi; two sisters, Anna Mae Hanson and Mildred Andrews of Biloxi; ten grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and a great great granddaughter.
Visitation will be tonight, Wednesday, April 16, 2008, from 5 until 9 p.m. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Howard Avenue, in Biloxi. Funeral services are 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in biloxi National Cemetery.
