John Eric Horton

John Eric Horton, loving uncle, passed away at the age of 51 in Gulfport, MS on Tuesday, November 26, 2024.

He was born on October 18, 1973 in Neshoba County, MS to John and Betty Horton. He graduated from Edinburg High School and attended college at East Central Community College and the University of Southern Mississippi. John Eric was employed at the Pearl River Casino and Resort for 24 years. He enjoyed spending time with family, jeeping, gaming and movies.

John Eric was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Sonya Robinson. Survivors include his aunts, Mary (Charles) Permenter and Barbara McDill; his nephew, Justin (Rachel) Sharp; great nieces, Taylor, Erin and Holly Sharp; and his great nephews, Chris and Tyler Dyess.

There will be a graveside service on Saturday, December 7, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Ebenezer Cemetery in Carthage, MS in Leake County.

The family would like to recognize the 1941 MS Misfits where he had many Jeep friends and memories.
