John Vernon Hunter

John Vernon Hunter, age 91, of Austin, Texas died Monday, August 10, 2015 in Austin. He was born in Union, MS and was a longtime resident of Gulfport before moving to Austin three and a half years ago. He was a member of Handsboro Baptist Church. He served in the Army-Air Corp during World War II and he was the retired owner of Imperial Cleaners. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Faye Hunter. Mr. Hunter is survived by his wife, Margie Hunter; a daughter Jan Bodenger; two granddaughters, Michelle Bodenger and Melissa Bodenger-Robertson; and three great-grandchildren. Private services will be held at the Biloxi National Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Handsboro Baptist Church, 1421 E Pass Road, Gulfport, MS 39507 or to the church of your choice in memory of John. Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 15th Street, Gulfport is in charge of arrangements.
