John "Johnnie" Carter Cook, Jr.

John “Johnnie” Carter Cook, Jr., 79 of Ocean Springs, MS passed away on January 15, 2024.

He was born on February 4, 1944 in New Orleans, LA to John and Vera Cook. He graduated from Ocean Springs High School in 1962 and attended the University of South MS. He worked in construction and sales. He served in the U.S. National Guard. He enjoyed spending time with family, watching football, and fishing. He owned many different cars throughout his life and thoroughly enjoyed them. He played football in high school and played the guitar in band during college.

Johnnie was preceded in death by his parents, John and Vera Cook.

He is survived by his wife, Cynthia “Cindy” Cook; children, Licia (Boots) Cook Callegari, Jacob Angle, and Jennifer (Danny) Green; grandchildren, Anthony (Emma) Callegari, Chad Callegari, Logan Callegari, Cruz Angle, Sunny Angle, Danielle Green, and Jenna Green; and great-grandchild, Clare Callegari.

The family would like to extend a thank you to the doctors and nurses of Ocean Springs SICU, Dr. Pavlov and his nurse, Twy, Dr. Tasan, Dr. Zayed, and Dr. Baber.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to your favorite charity in memory of Johnnie.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, January 26, 2024 at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, Ocean Springs, MS. Friends may visit one hour prior.
