John "Johnny" Wallace Ross, 68, passed away peacefully at his home on March 22, 2011. He was born on December 13, 1942 to Wallace C. and Doris Lee Ross. Johnny was a lifelong resident of the Woolmarket Community, except for a tour of duty in the US Army serving his country in the Vietnam War. After retiring from Sterling Drug Co., he spent his time gardening, grafting trees, hunting and raising beagles. He never met a stranger and loved talking to people.
John is survived by his wife of 46 years, Sandra Roberts Ross; daughter and son-in-law, Stacey and John Keegan of Woolmarket; son and daughter-in-law, John and Amanda Ross of Perkinston; sisters, Ginger (Ed) Trochesset, Sylvia (Johnnie) Page and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many friends who loved him.
The family would like to thank all of those who have shown so much support to them during this difficult time. A special thanks to Odessey Hospice.
Johnny was truly a unique individual. His character, his big heart and sweet loving nature will be greatly missed by all the lives he touched.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, March 25, 2011 at 4:00 p.m at Coalville Cemetery in Woolmarket with military honors.
