Mr. John L Krohn left this earth to be with his Savior on Friday, November 8, 2019. Born and raised in Ocean Springs to parents Mamie and Clifton Krohn on December 27, 1934, he was raised along with his brothers Robert Krohn and Rufus Krohn. He joined the military early in his life and went on to serve 23 years in the US Navy reaching the rank of Master Chief Petty Officer retiring in 1974. His military career sent him and his family all over the country. The early years were spent on ships along the West Coast but eventually they made it to the East Coast serving in Narragansett, RI, Great Lakes, Illinois, Jacksonville, FL, Virginia Beach, VA, Charleston, SC, Norfolk, VA, and a post in Rota, Spain. After retirement from the military, he went on to serve as Head of Food Service at KAFB for another 21 years and finally retiring for good in 1997. He loved all things nature. He cultivated an awesome blueberry orchard and shared freely with all who asked. He was a master grafter and enjoyed seeing the fruits of his labor. He also amassed quite an assortment of mounts from his many hunting and fishing expeditions across the country. He was quite proud of these and often showed them to visitors.
