John Mcelveney

John Kelton McElveney, better known to his friends and co-workers as "Johnny Mac", lost his battle with cancer Friday, July 16, 2010 at home in Long Beach, Ms. Johnny was born October 25, 1946 in San Francisco, CA. He worked in the casino industry for 40 years, first in Nevada then moving to the Gulf Coast in January, 1999 after his wife, Linda passed. He said he always knew he would end up somewhere by the water and he loved living here. He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Emery McElveney; his mother, Kathryn McElveney Marshall; and step-father, Richard Marshall. Johnny left behind his wife, Judy Higgins McElveney of Long Beach; a brother, Patrick McElveney of Reno, NV; a son, John Christopher McElveney and two grand- children, Aiden McElveney and Scarlet McElveney of Sparks, NV. A sunset memorial service will be held in his honor on Friday, July 23, 2010 at 7:30 p.m. on the beach at the corner of Paradise Lane and Beach Blvd. between Tea Garden and Cowan Road in Gulfport with Father Louie Lohan officiating. Following the service it was Johnny's wish for his friends to gather to celebrate his life at EO II in Gulfport.
