John Michael Wilson

John Michael Wilson, age 78, of Gulfport passed away on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at his home.

John was born on May 28, 1946 in Waupaca, WI. He served in Vietnam in the US Army and in Desert Storm in the US Navy Seabees for a total of 21 years. He received many awards and other recognition including M16 expert, 3^rd Good Conduct Medal, 2^nd National Defense Service Medal, Navy Expeditionary Medal, 2^nd Navy Battle “E” Ribbon, Humanitarian Service Medal, 6^th Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, United States Coast Guard Special Operations Service Ribbon, Southwest Asia Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal/60 Device, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross Unit Citation/Palm, and Vietnam Service Medal.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Dorothy Wilson; son, Kip Wilson; and daughter, Kerri Elmore.

Survivors include his wife, Donna Wilson; daughter, Kellie Schroeder; grandchildren, Brad Schroeder, Ian Elmore, Mikey Elmore, Brett Elmore, Christopher Elmore, and Chelsea Elmore; and great-grandchildren, Jackson and Jameson Schroeder.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 14, 2024 at Gulf Pines Memorial Gardens with military honors. Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 15^th Street, Gulfport is honored to serve the Wilson family.
