John Patrick Ryan

Mr. John Patrick Ryan, 77, of Biloxi, MS, died Tuesday, October 6, 2009, in Pascagoula. Mr. Ryan was born in Chester, PA, and had been a resident of the coast for the past 37 years. He was a retired U. S. Air Force Veteran and a paratrooper with the U. S. Army Rangers in the Korean War. After retiring from the U. S. Air Force he worked 17 years in Civil Service with the U. S. Navy at SUPSHIP. He completed his career with Alion after 16 years of service. He enjoyed reading, golf and bowling and he was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Mr. Ryan was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Bessie Ryan; sisters, Marie Ryan and Anna Kyttle; and brother, Hugh Ryan. Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Shirley Hankins Ryan; son, Richard (Tara) Ryan of Duluth, GA; brothers, Thomas Ryan of Avalon, NJ, and William Ryan of Florida; and two grandchildren, Colin Ryan and Caitlin Ryan of Duluth, GA. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 9, 2009, at 11:30 a.m. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, 675 Howard Avenue, Biloxi, where friends may visit one hour before service time. Interment will follow in Biloxi National Cemetery with full military honors.
