John Ambrose Rietti,

Father John Ambrose Rietti Jr., 81, of Phenix City, AL died Wednesday, August 28, 2013 in Phenix City. He was born Oct.5th,1931 in Jackson, MS. He became a priest, graduating from the Seminary in 1958. He was a licensed pilot and a professor at Jackson State University and received his PhD at the University of Southern Mississippi. Better known as Father Jack, he was a man of many characters who was loved by so many and will be dearly missed. The Mass of Christian burial will be held Thursday, September 5, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cathedral of St. Peter Catholic Church in Jackson, MS where friends may visit beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park, Jackson. Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 15th Street, Gulfport is in charge of arrangements.
