John Shaughnessy Dubuisson

John Shaughnessy "Shawn" Dubuisson died on February 4, 2012, in Gulfport, MS, surrounded by his loving family. Shawn was preceded in death by his father Cecil R. Dubuisson and his grandparents, Harold and Loretta Dubuisson and Guy and Elizabeth Casper. He is survived by his mother Margaret Dubuisson and his beloved children Nicholas (Cara) Dubuisson, Kelsey (Nick) Whicker and Cecilia Dubuisson. He is also survived by his sisters, Jan (Ronnie) Hamilton, Becky Dubuisson, Lisa (Dan) Younghouse and his brother Cecil (Betty) Dubuisson. He was a fun uncle who leaves numerous nieces and nephews to treasure his memory, including Annie (Max) Green, John Hamilton, Ray (Carrie) Hamilton, Joe (Christina) Hamilton, Zack (Sarah) Larkin, Cecil "Trey" Dubuisson, Chase Dubuisson, Stevie Crowder, Kayleigh Crowder, Elizabeth Younghouse, Becky (Jay) Myers, Patrick Younghouse, Will Younghouse, Tyler Younghouse, Maggie Younghouse and Jordan Younghouse. He also leaves behind his precious "Green" children, Tate, Grace and Tucker. Shawn was bigger than life -- most days. He loved a good time whether it be his favorite seasons of Christmas, Mardi Gras, NASCAR or watching football (yes the Saints were his favorite team). He loved playing Santa Claus and did so at several events during the holiday season. If you wanted to truly experience the Mardi Gras season, Shawn was your man. He knew the ins and outs of Mardi Gras etiquette and he could guarantee you a great time. What Shawn loved most was his children. He was so proud of each of them. They were his reason for living. Nick, Kelsey (his brown-eyed girl) and Ceci made him happy every day. His mother and his siblings will miss him immensely--he leaves a void that will never be filled in his family circle. Shawn's favorite song was Louis Armstrong's "What a Wonderful World" and that sums up how Shawn viewed his life. For all those who stood by Shawn during his life and helped him along the way, his family is truly grateful for your love of and support to Shawn. Shawn was of the Catholic faith. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church, Gulfport, MS. Visitation will begin at the church at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Gulfport, MS. Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 15th St. Gulfport in charge of arrangements.
