John Skrnich, Jr.

Mr. John Skrnich, Jr., 89, of Biloxi, died Tuesday, February 6, 2007. Mr. Skrnich was a lifelong resident of Biloxi. A member of St. Michael's and St. Louis Catholic Church. He worked on the shrimp boats when he was 16 and had his own boat when he was 18. The name of his boat was "Deborah". He continued to work on the boats until 1987. He was preceded in death by his wife, Flora Gazzo Skrnich and a son, John Skrnich III. Survivors include his daughter, Deborah Watts and her husband, Randy. Two sons, Mike Skrnich and his wife Patt, Danny Skrnich and his wife Patti. Three sisters, Lou Broussard, Frances Mason, Delores Sonnier. One brother, Joseph "Chibby" Skrnich. Five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Family prefers Memorials to: Samatarian's Purse, 801 Bamboo Rd., Boone, NC 28607. Visitation is Saturday, February 10, 2007 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at St. Michaels Catholic Church. Services will follow at 11:00 a.m. at St. Michael's Catholic Church.
