John Melvin Stewart, III, age 61, of Saucier, died Friday, August 22, 2014 in Saucier. He was born in Gulfport and was a lifelong resident of the Gulf Coast. He was a member of Morris Hill Baptist Church and was a retired electrician from Northrup Grumman Shipyard. A mason, he was a member of J.L. Power Lodge 416, Perkinston. His hobbies were hunting, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, John M. Stewart, Jr; and a sister, Phyllis Stewart.
He is survived by his wife, Janet McNeese Stewart; a daughter, Kimberly Ates; sons, John M. Stewart, IV, and Joseph M. Stewart; sisters, Nell Triplet and Charlotte Cuevas; a brother, Elam Stewart; his mother, Edith Fadden and her husband, Dean Fadden; and four grandchildren.
The graveside service will be Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Poplar Head Cemetery in Saucier with Masonic Rites.
