John Theodore Reiter

John Theodore Reiter, age 75, of Ocean Springs, MS., passed away Thursday, January 13, 2011 at his home. John was born in Cambridge Springs, PA on January 29, 1935 to Theodore and Lillian Reiter. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force for twenty-four years. John was a thirty-eight year resident of Ocean Springs, returning here after deployments in Alaska, Philippines, Okinawa, Japan and Turkey. He was a member of St. Paul Unitied Methodist Church, Ocean Springs. He was a longtime member of the Loyal Order of the Moose. John loved his family, a good round of golf and was an avid league bowler. He is survived by his wife of fifty-three years, Sue L. Reiter of Ocean Springs; son, Kevin J. Reiter and his wife Sandra of Petal, MS; daughters, Katherine W. Henderson and Melody D. Stewart of Gulfport, MS., grandchildren, Dane and Brett Reiter of Petal, MS., and Dane's wife Katie; sister, Carol (Jack) Randall of Meadville, PA; brother Frank (Judy) Reiter of Greensboro, NC; three nieces and one nephew and his loving cat Elsa. There will be a Graveside Service at Biloxi National Cemetery (VA) on January 18, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. with full military honors. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to St. Paul United Methodist Church, 800 Porter Avenue, Ocean Springs, MS 39564. The Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe is in charge of arrangements.
