John M. "Johnny" Venus

Johnny” Venus, age 84, of Gulfport passed away Sunday, December 31, 2017 in Gulfport. Johnny was born in Biloxi and remained a lifelong resident of the Gulf Coast. He retired from Harrison County as a Safety Officer. He was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Gulfport. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Marie Tootle; his parents; a sister and two brothers. Johnny is survived by his wife of 51 years, Frances Venus; two daughters, Lynne Copeland (Chuck) and Nancy Berry (Steve); a son, Lionel “Lex” Tootle (Jo Lynn); five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. The Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 5, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Gulfport where friends may visit beginning at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Finley Cemetery, Gulfport.
