John W. Ross

Mr. John W. Ross Sr., 83, of Ocean Springs, died Tuesday, June 14, 2005. A life long resident of Biloxi. He was a fisherman and Shrimp King in 1970. He was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Mr. Ross was preceded in death by his parents Adolph and Margaret Ross, four sisters, Myrtlee Murray, Madelin Hilderbrand, Wynonna Anglada and Hattie Batoglia;two brothers Adolph Ross and Clyde F. Ross. Mr. Ross is survived by his wife of 63 years, Elvera Catchot Ross of Ocean Springs, MS.; 2 daughters, Vera Ann Robertson and her husband John of Batesville, MS and Judy Lynn Lesso and her husband Randy of Biloxi, MS.; 3 sons, John Ross Jr. and his wife Linda of Pascagoula, MS.; Robert Ross and his wife Dorothy of Ocean Springs, MS.; Edward Ross and his wife Nadine of Ocean Springs,MS.; 3 sisters, his twin Wilomenna Wallis of Biloxi, Ms.; Uelda Butler of Biloxi, MS.; Augustine Langlinaise of Ocean Springs, MS.; 2 brothers Walter Eley Ross of Biloxi, MS. and John B. Ross of Ocean Springs, MS.; 25 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 2 great great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Thursday June 16, 2005 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in D'lberville from 11:00a.m. to 12:00 p.m. with Mass of Christian Burial to follow. Interment will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery.
