Johnney Lafayette Odom, age 82, of Long Beach, passed away on Monday, December 9, 2024 at home with his family and friends.
Johnney was born on June 3, 1942 in Laurel, MS to Elvin L. and Melvinia Strickland Odom. He was a 1960 graduate of Ellisville High School and a 1971 graduate of Ole Miss. Johnney became a licensed pharmacist in 1971. He was a well-known pharmacist throughout the Gulf Coast for over 50 years. Johnney joined the U.S. Army Reserve and served for 6 years. He was an avid Ole Miss supporter.
Johnney was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Peggy O. Jefcoat.
Survivors include his wife, June Ipser Odom; children, Karen Jordan (James), Todd Innis (Missy), and Julie Innis (Myron Johnston); grandchildren, Hayley Duplantier (Forrest) and Christopher Jordan; siblings, Elvis Farr (John), Donna Ford, Lewis Odom (Pam), and Marche Odom; and cousins, Tommy, Janie, Larry, Lisa, John, and Alan.
Visitation for Mr. Odom will begin at 10:00 am. with a memorial service to follow at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at Grace Lutheran Church, Long Beach. Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 15th Street, Gulfport is honored to serve the Odom family.
