Jonathan Elias Diaz

Jonathan “Jon” Elias Diaz, 38, of Ocean Springs, MS passed away Thursday, May 25, 2023. Jon was born December 5, 1984 to Roland J. Diaz Jr. and Donna Diaz.

In 2003, Jon graduated from DW Daniel High School in Clemson, SC. Following high school, he attended Tri County Technical School in Pendleton, SC. He won 1^st place in the South Carolina Welding Competition in 2004. After school, he worked in welding as an under-water welder and structural welder. In his free time, he enjoyed motorcycling, gardening, boating and hunting. He was also an avid cannon builder, gun collector and knife collector.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Roland J. Diaz Sr., Mary Evelyn Diaz, and Bess Virginia Powell; brother-in-law, Chad O’Quinn; and uncles, Gene Powell Jr., Jerry Jones, and Fred Jones.

Survivors include his wife, Miranda Diaz; parents, Roland “Joey” Diaz and Donna Diaz; step-children, Kadence, Aiden, and Brooks Bennett; brother, RJ (Elizabeth) Diaz III; mother-in-law, Loretta (Bill) O’Keefe; father-in-law, Johnny (Virginia) O’Quinn; brother-in-law, John O’Quinn; grandfather, Harlan Powell; and beloved pets, Little Bit, Lucy, and Debo.

A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home. Friends are invited to visit from 9:30 am to 11 am. Interment will be at D’Iberville Memorial Park.
