Austin Seth Jordan

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Austin Seth Jordan, age 25. 

Austin was born in Gulfport MS on November 21, 1997, and went to be with the Lord on August 4, 2023.  Austin graduated from Gulfport High School with honors.  He was heavily involved with marching band and loved the music and the camaraderie.  Austin began his love for music in middle school, where he learned to play the cello and the bassoon.  He found his love for the baritone saxophone during marching band in high school.  He played the bassoon in concert band and continued playing the sax for jazz band.  He loved listening to all types of music, which attributed to his talent playing musical instruments.  Austin was initially shy, but not when it came to playing his musical instruments.  Austin didn’t do much dancing, but he loved it, especially when dancing with his Grandma Murphy, who gave him the nickname Twinkle Toes.  Austin was dedicated to comedy.  His consistent yet unorthodox wit helped to keep morale high, even through any difficult times his friends or family were experiencing.

Austin was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Lee O. Jordan. 

He is survived by his father, Lance L. Jordan; his mother, Margaret M. Johnson (Paul); paternal grandmother, Mary Gloria Jordan; maternal grandmother, Carole E. Murphy (Fred); maternal grandfather, Charles L. Sorensen (Gwen); his brothers, Douglas Jordan, Alexander L. Jordan, and Adam T. Jordan; and aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 10, 2023 at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 15^th Street, Gulfport. Friends and family may visit one-hour before service. Interment will follow at Biloxi City Cemetery. Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 15^th Street, Gulfport is honored to serve the Jordan family.
