Joseph Anthony Dimitry, Sr.

Mr. Joseph A. "Mr. Joe" Dimitry, Sr., 66, of D'Iberville, MS, passed away Sunday, September 6, 2009, in Biloxi. Mr. Joe was born in New Orleans, LA and had been a lifelong resident of D'Iberville /St. Martin. Before retiring, he worked in the auto body repair business many years and was a classic car enthusiast. He was a charter member of the N. Biloxi Jaycee's and enjoyed socializing with his casino friends. He was especially close to his two grandchildren and loved them dearly. Mr. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Alexander and Pauline Dimitry; brother, Alexander Dimitry, Jr. Survivors include his beloved wife of 47 years, Beverly Dimitry; sons, Joseph A. Dimitry, Jr. (Kay), Scott M. Dimitry (Sharon); daughter, Prudence D. Brown (Dwight); grandchildren, Brittany Brown and Tyler Brown; brother, Thomas Dimitry (Sylvia); sister, Debra Thornton; sister-in-law, Bobbie Jean Dimitry; father-in-law, Henry Toncrey, Sr., and mother-in-law, Jacqueline Toncrey. He is also survived by numerous family and friends and will be greatly missed by all. A memorial service will be 7 p.m. Thursday, September 10, 2009, at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, 675 Howard Avenue, in Biloxi where friends may visit from 5 p.m. until service time.
