Joseph B. "Joey" Nelms

Joseph B. "Joey" Nelms, age 53, of Gulfport, died Tuesday, August 4, 2009 in Gulfport. He was born in Fayetteville, NC and had been a resident of the Gulf Coast about fifteen years. He was Baptist. He enjoyed fishing and playing games on the internet with friends worldwide. He loved life to the fullest and never took anything seriously. He was preceded in death by parents, James Bryce Nelms and Lila Pearl Walker Nelms; a daughter, Tracy Ladner; and two sisters, Shelia Glass and Angela Nelms. Mr. Nelms is survived by his wife, Patty Nelms of Gulfport; a daughter, Amy Nelms; four sons, Jason Nelms, Lenny Lawson, Shawn Ladner, and Aaron Lawson; two sisters, Debra Jackson and Teresa Gill; and eight grandchildren. The funeral service will be Saturday, August 8, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Lyman Baptist Church with visitation following the service.
