Joseph "Charles" Broussard

Joseph “Charles” Broussard, 87, a lifelong resident of Biloxi, MS died on Thursday, December 21, 2023.  God chose this special day to take him into His loving arms to be with Him and his heavenly family.

At 12 years old Charles worked his first job as a paperboy for the Biloxi Daily Herald newspaper.  He was a graduate of Biloxi High School Class of 1955.  Upon graduation, he served in the U.S. Army.  He retired from the Veterans Administration Engineering Department after 34 years.

Charles was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church where he was an usher and worked at the Parish Bazaars for many years.  He was a lifetime member of the Fleur de Lis Society (the French Club), and a regular member of the Palace Casino “Lunch Bunch”. 

He loved dancing and sports, especially softball where he played in many leagues and tournaments.  Charles was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, and will be truly missed by all that knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Tim and Enola Hebert Broussard; brother, Bernard Sidney Broussard; and sister, Dolores Broussard Roberts.

Charles is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Kay Hunt Broussard; daughter, Donna Broussard Bellais (Kenny); twin granddaughters, Kaylyn Bellais and Ashtyn Bellais; sister, Genevieve Broussard Dannelley of Texas; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Biloxi on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at 11:00 am with visitation beginning at 9:30 am. Interment will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery.
